From police officer to Head of State

Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar is a veteran Malaysian politician and a prominent figure in Sarawak’s political landscape.

He began his career as a police officer before transitioning into politics, where he has held significant positions at both the federal and state levels.

Notably, as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) from 2021 to 2022, he made a substantial impact.

On June 19, 2023, he was appointed the 19th President of the Dewan Negara, and on January 26, 2024, he became Sarawak’s eighth Head of State.

Wan Junaidi’s leadership and extensive experience have earned him widespread respect.
