KUALA LUMPUR (March 19): GDB Holdings Bhd, through its wholly-owned subsidiary GDB Infra Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM115.5 million contract for a proposed water treatment plant project in Sarawak.
GDB Infra was appointed by Pembinaan JBS Sdn Bhd as a sub-contractor to undertake the construction, supply, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning of the new facility in Song District.
“The comprehensive scope of works includes surveying, site clearing, pipe works, rainwater intake and water treatment plant facilities, mechanical and electrical services, alongside turnkey elements,” said the construction services firm in a statement on Wednesday.
GDB executive director and acting group managing director Andy Lai Wee Young said the company is establishing regional offices to strengthen local project management and ensure timely, efficient delivery to support the growing project pipeline and streamline operations across East Malaysia.
In line with its expansion plans, the group has established a Sarawak regional office in Kuching, which is now operational. Its Sabah regional office in Kota Kinabalu is expected to commence operations by June 2026.
GDB said the contract win bolsters its outstanding order book to RM785.7 million and provides the group with earnings visibility through to 2029. — Bernama
