DayakDaily's 2027 Book Collection Drive.By DayakDaily Team
KUCHING, Oct 8: Every book holds an adventure, and for children in remote corners of Sarawak, those pages can open doors to entirely new worlds.
For the sixth consecutive year, DayakDaily has teamed up with Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) to launch its annual second-hand book collection campaign, turning community generosity into educational milestones for rural youngsters.
For the 2027 initiative, all collected titles will make their way to a deserving rural community library in Lawas, with its handover taking place during DayakDaily’s signature 10-day D’Drift expedition, strategically timed to kick off just a day before the start of Ramadhan.
How and where to donate?
If you have gently used books sitting on your shelves that are suitable for children and youths aged 18 and under, your donations can find a meaningful second home. Drop-off points are now open:
- DayakDaily Drop-Off Point: A collection box is stationed on the ground floor of the DayakDaily office at TT3 Plaza (near the stairway, a door down to the right of Subway, off Jalan Canna).

A book collection booth set up at the La Promenade mall.Donations at La Promenade Mall will be open from October 8 through November 15.
A Legacy of Sharing
This campaign is much more than a seasonal drive; it represents a continuing journey that has bridged communities across Sarawak year after year. The initiative builds upon a proud legacy that began in 2022 when DayakDaily launched its inaugural book collection campaign, successfully delivering over 1,000 books to SK Lusong Laku for Penan children.
That momentum carried forward into 2023 with the donation of 1,000 storybooks and two large bags of soft toys to the Orang Ulu community in Ulu Belaga. In 2024, the team transported 1,340 second-hand books and three boxes of soft toys to the Reading Corner at the Long Latei Penan Service Centre in Ulu Baram.
The generosity continued in March 2025 as 1,052 books and 10 large bags of soft toys were delivered to Tarat and officially handed over to the Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn. Most recently, during the 2026 D’Drift expedition, DayakDaily transported 1,000 books to a community library in Tanjung Manis to directly benefit young readers in Belawai.
Clear out your bookshelves, share the joy of reading, and help empower the next generation of Sarawakian learners. Every book counts! – DayakDaily
