KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, received a courtesy call from members of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Thursday.
The courtesy call was led by the Chief Judge of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak, Tan Sri Datuk Abdul Rahman Sebli.
Meanwhile, JAC in a press statement, said that the purpose of the courtesy call was to present the administrative mechanism for the appointment of Judicial Commissioners in Sabah and Sarawak, which requires the consent of the Sarawak Head of State and the Sabah Head of State in accordance with the implementation of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
The courtesy call marked the first visit by JAC since Wan Junaidi was appointed as the eighth Head of State.
Also in attendance were former Federal Court Judge Tan Sri Datuk Suriyadi Halim Omar, former State Attorney General of Sarawak Datuk Abdul Razak Tready, JAC Secretary Salinah Ismail, and Senior Deputy Secretary (Policy & Appointments) of JAC, Mohd Izwan Osman.
