KUCHING (Jan 16): A new book examining Sarawak’s development trajectory and sustainability agenda, ‘Greening Transformation: Sarawak 2030 & Beyond’, has been launched, offering insights into the policies and strategies shaping the state’s future.

Reflecting the green ideals it promotes, the publication is produced using recycled paper.

Published by the Office of the Sarawak Premier, the book is researched and written by Dr Toman Mamora and serves as a sequel to the earlier publication Sarawak and Transformation.

The launch took place during a town hall session by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg here on Tuesday, held in conjunction with his ninth anniversary leading Sarawak.

Spanning 220 full-colour pages, the book integrates themes such as energy, infrastructure, food supply and digital technologies, while emphasising distributive growth, political stability and racial harmony as key enablers of development.

According to its synopsis, the publication highlights Sarawak’s transformation agenda under Abang Johari’s leadership, focusing on governance reforms, sustainable growth initiatives and long-term policy direction.

It analyses key policies and programmes through narrative storytelling and critical evaluation, with strong emphasis on the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 as the core framework driving embedded transformations across the state.

The book is currently not available for public purchase.
