HDC explained that projects involving the corporation under the programme are still at the construction stage.

KUCHING (Dec 29): The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has dismissed circulating social media allegations linking the corporation to alleged misuse, rental activities and improper distribution of units under the Rumah Sri Pertiwi affordable housing programme.

In a statement on Monday, HDC clarified that the Rumah Sri Pertiwi is a Sarawak government affordable housing initiative targetted at households earning between RM4,000 and RM10,000.

The programme is open for development either by government agencies or the private sector, subject to state policy and approval.

HDC explained that projects involving the corporation under the programme are still at the construction stage, particularly those developed through joint ventures.

“As such, any claims directly associating HDC with issues related to house allocation, rental or misuse under this programme are unfounded, baseless and misleading to the public,” it said.

The corporation also expressed concern over the spread of misinformation on social media and urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified or false claims.

“HDC takes the dissemination of inaccurate information seriously and calls on the public to stop spreading such allegations,” it added.
