Jln Betong-Belingan oil spill sends three vehicles into ditch

KUCHING (Jan 26): An oil spill on Jalan Betong-Belingan on Monday morning sent three vehicles crashing into a roadside ditch.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said the incident involved a car, van and motorcycle, and left one person with a dislocated shoulder.

“Rescuers from the Betong fire station received a call at 11.32am and hurried to the location where, upon arrival, they discovered one individual still inside the car.

“The victim was unable to exit the vehicle due to a dislocated left shoulder,” the department said.

Assistance was rendered to the victim, who was then handed over to Civil Defence Force personnel for further action.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.

Bomba said following the rescue, its personnel cleaned the road of the oil spill before departing back to their station.
