KUCHING, Mar 15: Kapit MP Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi has requested that the appropriate assistance be considered and provided to help ease the burden of the family of a 25-year-old man who was found dead today following a boat capsize incident.

In a Facebook post, the Works Minister said he was informed of the matter from his political secretary, Datuk Alvin Runggah Jimbun, and the P215 Kapit Service Centre chief coordinator, Ambrose Abong Bugek, who visited the victim’s family at the search and rescue (SAR) site.

“I would like to express my deepest condolences to the entire family of the deceased. This loss is truly heartbreaking, and I sincerely sympathise with the family during this very difficult time.

“I have also requested that the appropriate assistance be considered and provided to help ease the burden of the victim’s family,” he said.

Nanta also thanked the SAR team for their efforts in carrying out the operation.

“I pray that the victim’s family will be given strength to face this difficult trial,” he said.

The victim, Brando Jawi Mamba, was travelling from Rumah Bunsi, Kampung Atas Kubu, Jalan Sri Baleh, with four friends when their boat capsized in Batang Rajang.

The friends managed to save themselves, while the victim was nowhere to be seen. — DayakDaily
