KUCHING, March 13: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg revealed that key issues were successfully resolved during a federal-State meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim earlier today.

Speaking at the 2026 Madani breaking-of-fast event held at Masjid Jamek this evening, Abang Johari said the discussions were constructive and focused on resolving problems efficiently, although he did not elaborate on the specifics of the issues discussed.

“Earlier today, we had a short meeting between the federal government and the Sarawak government.

“We discussed some key issues, and Alhamdulillah, with unity and friendship between the two parties, the issues have been resolved. Thank you, Yang Amat Berhormat (Prime Minister),” Abang Johari said.

He further acknowledged Anwar’s busy schedule, noting that despite attending a Cabinet meeting this morning, the latter made time to visit Sarawak and meet with State leaders in the afternoon.

The premier also highlighted the Prime Minister’s role on the international stage, saying Malaysia’s unity allows him to focus on both domestic and global issues.

He added that if the country were in turmoil, it would hinder efforts to assist communities abroad.

“The important thing is that Malaysia is united. If our nation were in chaos, he (Anwar) would not be able to carry out his duties or help communities beyond our borders,” Abang Johari stressed. — DayakDaily
