Kho to sponsor KGS monthly series for third year

KUCHING (Jan 27): Kelab Golf Sarawak (KGS) has expressed its appreciation to Dato Sri Kho Kak Beng for his sponsorship of the KGS-Dato Sri Kho Kak Beng Monthly Medal golf competition into the third year.

The KGS Monthly Medal has grown into one of the club’s most popular and eagerly anticipated regular events, drawing strong participation from members across all handicap categories. KGS captain Ting Kee Suen said Kho’s sponsorship has enabled the competition to encourage wider participation and fostering engagement among members.

“Over the last two years, the Monthly Medal has consistently recorded healthy turnout, reflecting both the enthusiasm of KGS members and the positive impact of making competitive golf more accessible and inclusive.

“The continuation of the sponsorship in 2026 further underscores Dato Sri Kho’s steadfast support for grassroots club golf and the nurturing of a vibrant golfing community at KGS,” he said.

The Kho Kak Beng Monthly Medals also offers hole-in-one prizes of RM5,000 each at Matang Hole 3 and Santubong Hole 17.

Ting, on behalf of KGS, has presented a certificate of appreciation to Kho, witnessed by KGS general manager Terence Lee, activities manager Shirlyna Kim Dupo and tournament subcommittee members Khairul Arifin Abdul Aziz and Sharkawi Mohamad Ali Sulaiman.

The  club commended sponsors who share the club’s vision of fostering participation, sportsmanship and fellowship through the sport of golf.
