KUALA LUMPUR, 8 Sep: Kuching City FC dominate as they beat Kelantan Red Warriors (KRW) 5-1 in the second round of the FA Cup at Cheras Football Stadium, tonight.
The stylish victory saw Kuching City confirm its qualification to the quarter-finals.
Kuching City opened the curtain on the network as early as the 10th minute with Dylan Wenzel-Halls facilitating a beautiful delivery of Filemon Anyie to put the Sarawak team ahead.
The match was then stopped shortly after a flashlight damage occurred as both teams were regularly attacking.
However, the disruption did not affect Kuching City's momentum as they again doubled their lead through Safawi Rashid in the 22nd minute.
Connecting the second half, Kuching City continued to show their dominance of the game as Ronald Ngah Wanjah added a third goal in the 53rd minute after easily defeating Kelantan Red Warriors goalkeeper Amin Faisal Mohd Saidi.
The Red Warriors then narrowed the gap in the 66th minute via Mazuan Che Mat network, thus giving a bit of relief to their supporters attending the match in the capital.
Kuching City regained the lead two minutes later after referee Mohammad Zamzaidi awarded a penalty match following Iskandar Shah's ruthlessness against Ramadhan Saifullah in the penalty box area.
Ronald Ngah Wanjah calmly perfected the penalty match for his second net and fourth goal of Kuching City.
Kuching City completed the scoring feast in the 80th minute when Japanese-born import defender Kaishu Yamazaki kicked a fifth goal to secure a 5-1 victory.
The victory thus confirmed Kuching City's qualification for the FA Cup quarter-finals.
At that stage, Kuching City will face Kelantan City who first knocked out Negeri Sembilan with aggregate of 4-3.
