KUCHING (Jan 25): Police seized drugs worth an estimated RM29,780 and arrested six individuals in two separate raids carried out at residential units here late Friday.
District police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the 10.30pm operation involved a man, aged 45, being apprehended at a Jalan Durian Burung residential area, where the police team found 198 vape cartridges containing 376.2ml of substance, believed to be marijuana.
“The suspect tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine and ketamine, and following background checks, had one prior criminal record.
“The case is being investigated under Section 6 of Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and is currently being remanded until Jan 27 to assist in investigation,” said Alexson in a statement issued late Saturday.
He added that not long after the first raid, police arrested two local men, aged 21 and 45, as well as three foreign women – aged 20, 25 and 28 – at another residential unit in the same area.

The straw tube is believed to contain ketamine.
Inspections uncovered one straw tube filled with 0.47gm of white powder, believed to be ketamine.
“Four of the suspects, two men and two women, tested positive for drugs.
“Both male suspects each had a prior criminal record each,” said Alexson.
“The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the same Act, and all suspects are remanded until Jan 27,” added Alexson.
