KAPIT (July 10): Thirteen committee members of Kapit District Senior Citizens Service Centre (PPWE) and 26 from Song District Senior Citizens Activities Centre (PAWE) gained enriching insight during their recent educational trip to Kuching.
Led by PPWE Kapit chairman Temenggong Datu Wilfred Billy Panyau, the group was also joined by representatives of Kapit Welfare Office.
“The objective of this programme is for us to learn from our counterparts in Kuching in the aspects of centre management and also the running of activities suitable for senior citizens.
“In this regard, we would like to express our gratitude to PAWE Kuching chairperson Dato Sri Sharifah Mordiah Tuanku Fauzi and her committee for their warm hospitality and generosity rendered to us throughout the visit.
“The knowledge and experience gained from this trip are most invaluable, and we plan to apply them into our management and activities for our members in Song and Kapit districts,” said Wilfred.
The paramount chief also thanked Works Minister and Kapit MP Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Bukit Goram assemblyman Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat, Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang and Katibas assemblyman Lidam Assan, for chipping in funds to help finance their Kuching trip.
