KAPIT (Oct 6): Youth members of the Federation of Kwang Tung Associations Malaysia were here Friday as part of a series of visits to their affiliates nationwide.

The group, led by Youth section chief Leng Kok Hong and deputy chief Hu Wan Thai, was warmly welcomed upon arrival by Kapit Kwang Tung Association chairman Kong Sien Hua, who later hosted a dinner gathering for the visitors.

“Such visit not only fosters friendship but allows us here in Kapit to get to better know our fellow clansmen from across the country.

“This lays the foundation for future cooperation,” said Kong in his welcoming address.
Leng in his speech said their nationwide tour began on Sept 24 in the north of the peninsula and continued until the south.

“We then travelled across the South China Sea to Sarawak and after we visited our affiliates in Kuching-Samarahan, Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit, Bintulu and Miri, we will head to Sabah to conduct similar visits,” he said.

Among those present at the dinner gathering were Kapit Kwang Tung Association adviser Penghulu Sia Shui Poh and Women chief Liew Mee Kiong.
