SIBU (Jan 21): The Lanang MP Service Centre will host the ‘Program Sayangi Lanang: Jualan Kombo Madani’ at 9am on Jan 24 at Sing Kwong (Salim) Supermarket here.

Lanang MP Alice Lau said a total of 300 food packages will be offered, with each package originally priced at RM44.65.

“Through this initiative, the service centre is providing subsidies, allowing the public to purchase them for only RM30, representing savings of up to 30 per cent,” she said in a statement.

Each food package includes 1kg of white sugar, cooking oil, biscuit, canned corn, canned sardine, instant noodles, rice sticks and a tray of 30 eggs.

Lau said the initiative is part of her ongoing efforts to support the community by helping Sibu residents purchase essential goods at prices between 10 per cent and 30 per cent lower than market rates.

In conjunction with the programme, Sing Kwong (Salim) Supermarket will also offer special discounts on selected items, including chicken, white rice and vegetables, enabling the public to enjoy further savings.

The event has been warmly welcomed by the community and is seen as a meaningful step in helping households better manage their daily expenses.
