Lanang MP to host discounted food package sale for Sibu residents this weekend

SIBU (Dec 31): The Lanang MP Service Centre will host the ‘Program Sayangi Lanang: Jualan Kombo Madani’ at 8.30am on Jan 3, 2026 at Sibu Doremart Supermarket near Tiong Hua Road Market.

Lanang MP Alice Lau said a total of 300 food packages will be made available during the event, each originally priced at RM30.

“Through this initiative, the service centre has provided subsidies, allowing the public to purchase them for only RM20, saving up to 30 per cent,” she said in a statement.

Lau added that each food package includes 1kg of packaged white sugar and cooking oil, instant noodles, a tray of 30 eggs, and canned sardines.

Lau said the initiative forms part of her ongoing efforts to support the community, enabling Sibu residents to purchase essential goods at prices 10 per cent to 30 per cent lower than the market rate.

“Hopefully, the initiative will be seen as a valuable step in assisting households in managing their daily expenses,” she added.
