KUCHING, Mar 28: Lubok Antu is among several districts in Malaysia currently experiencing Level 1 hot weather conditions.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia), other districts under Level 1 status include Bandar Baharu, Kulim, Kuala Muda, Padang Terap, Kubang Pasu and Langkawi in Kedah; Perak Tengah, Kinta, Kuala Kangsar and Selama in Perak; Timur Laut and Daerah Utara in Penang; and Jerantut in Pahang.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department also reported that several districts across the country have recorded Level 2 heatwave conditions as of 6am today, particularly in Kedah, including Baling, Sik, Pendang, Pokok Sena and Kota Setar.

The department defines Level 1 hot weather as maximum daily temperatures of 35°C to 37°C for at least three consecutive days, while Level 2 heatwave conditions occur when temperatures reach 37°C to 40°C over the same period.

Authorities are urging the public to take precautions during prolonged heat, including staying hydrated, limiting outdoor activities during peak hours, and keeping updated with official weather alerts. — DayakDaily
