Police arrest the suspect at Kampung Lintang yesterday.
SERIAN (Feb 10): A 31-year-old man was arrested after allegedly brandishing a toy gun at Mile 18, Jalan Kuching-Serian here yesterday afternoon.
Padawan district police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi confirmed the arrest when contacted today.
“The arrest was made later that afternoon at Kampung Lintang, Mile 28. Also seized was the suspect’s motorcycle and the toy gun,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960. The suspect is expected to be remanded starting today.
A video of the incident went viral yesterday, showing the suspect pulling out the toy gun and allegedly ‘shooting’ at a roadside pedestrian before fleeing the scene.
