Man cheats death after car catches fire in Lambir

MIRI (July 7): A man narrowly escaped death after his car caught fire at Mile 12, Lambir near here at 3.30am today.

The Lopeng Fire and Rescue (Bomba) station in a statement said they received a distress call regarding the incident at 3.37am and rushed seven personnel to the scene.

“Upon their arrival, they found the car had been completely destroyed in the fire,” it said.

It said the driver had earlier been involved in a single-vehicle accident and the car skidded before it caught fire.

“The caller said he helped remove the victim from the car and sent him to the Miri Hospital,” it added.

The operation ended at 4.29am.
