Man escapes unhurt after car catches fire in Bintulu

BINTULU (Jan 20): A 45-year-old man escaped unhurt after the car he was driving caught fire on Jalan Tanjung Kidurong here.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call at 7.03am.

Firefighters from the Kidurong fire station were dispatched to the scene.

The fire engine arrived at the scene some 6km from the station around seven minutes later to find the vehicle completely engulfed in flames.

Firefighters carried out fire suppression using a single initial hose line to bring the blaze under control.

The fire was successfully contained by 7.35am and the operation was fully concluded at 7.41am.
