KUCHING (Feb 17): A 30-year-old man was reportedly attacked by a crocodile while fishing under the Sungai Buloh bridge in Sadong Jaya today.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a distress call was received at 12.40 pm, prompting rescuers from the Asajaya Fire Station to rush to the scene.
“Eyewitnesses reported that the victim, identified as Mohd Faizal Abdilah, was netting fish at the riverbank with a friend when the incident occurred.
“He went into the river waist-deep before being attacked by a crocodile,” Bomba said in a statement.
A search and rescue operation is currently ongoing as authorities work to locate the victim.
