KUCHING (Jan 22): The current hot and drier-than-usual weather condition is expected to continue across most parts of the country until this Sunday (Jan 25), according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a weather advisory, MetMalaysia said analysis of various forecasting models indicates that the prevailing hot and less rainy conditions now affect many areas nationwide.

However, the department cautioned that short-duration thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds could still occur in certain locations.

“The public is advised to remain alert to the possibility of brief but intense weather events despite the overall dry and hot conditions,” the department said in the notice.
