BRUNEI, Oct 4: Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah is optimistic that the target of four million tourist arrivals into the State will be reached this month (October).
According to a report by TVS, he said Sarawak has recorded a total of 3.3 million tourist arrivals as of August.
“Our target for incoming tourists this year is four million. God willing, we will achieve this number by the end of this month, as we have hit the 3.3 million mark in August.
“I believe we are close to four million, as the monthly number of arrivals to Sarawak is approximately 400,000. Therefore, now that we have just entered October, I think in the first or second week, we will reach our target of four million visitors,” he reportedly said when met by the media at the opening ceremony of the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office in Brunei (STATOB) yesterday (Oct 3). — DayakDaily
