She also congratulated the JSJN and the Sarawak police for successfully arresting four individuals and confiscating 105.02kg of syabu (methamphetamine) with an estimated street value of RM3.36 million in Permyjaya, Miri on Saturday (Aug 24).

“The success of this drug bust is estimated to be able to save a total of 525,100 drug addicts,” she said in a press conference held at Baitul Makmur 2, Petra Jaya here today.

Fatimah further explained that in Sarawak, there is a committee called the Sarawak One Stop Committee to Address Drugs and Substances Issues (OSC-MIDS) comprising various agencies, including the police.

The committee, she said, works strategically to ensure that the drug and substance issues can be resolved holistically from cutting off the supply and demand, rehabilitation process and creating awareness and prevention on drug addiction. — DayakDaily
