KUCHING (Dec 29): Sarawak is expected to experience several days of continuous rain following a monsoon surge forecast to sweep into the region between Jan 1 and 5 next year.
In a notice, Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) director-general Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip said analyses of the weather models indicate that the surge will bring significant downpours across the state.
“Strong winds and rough seas are expected over the South China Sea during the period,” he said.
He advised the public to monitor for updates via MetMalaysia’s website at www.met.gov.my, its official social media platforms, and myCuaca mobile application.
