BINTULU (Jan 3): Infrastructure and basic facilities in Kampung Jabai here will continue to be upgraded to ensure greater comfort and safety for residents, said Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming.
He noted that all communities, whether urban or rural, must be properly developed to provide residents with a comfortable and safe living environment.
“As the assemblyman for this constituency, I will continue to push for more development projects and improved public facilities for the people of Kampung Jabai,” he said at a dinner hosted by the village development and security committee (JKKK) and the neighbourhood watch (KRT) of Kampung Jabai on Thursday.
Johnny highlighted that following major floods earlier this year, many village facilities and infrastructure require upgrades, which would involve significant costs.
“My greatest hope for the new year is that Bintulu will be protected from natural disasters, especially major floods, so that every family can live in peace and happiness,” he said.
He emphasised that unity and cooperation among residents in the Tanjong Batu are crucial for the safety and well-being of the community.
Recent upgrades in Kampung Jabai have already enhanced residents’ comfort, including a more comfortable, air-conditioned community hall, improved office facilities, and a larger kitchen.
“These improvements show that the government values residents’ comfort, especially multipurpose halls, which are vital venues for community activities and programmes organised by villagers,” he added.
