Motorcycle bursts into flames

KUCHING: A scooter was engulfed in flames this morning at Batu 8, Jalan Penrissen, here.

The fire, which occurred today, was reported at 11.12 am, prompting an immediate response from the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station.

The incident involved a Yamaha Scooter Xmax 250cc motorcycle, which was destroyed in the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Arriving at the scene, firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control utilising a single hose reel connected to the water tank of the fire engine to extinguish the flames.

After ensuring that the fire was fully out with no signs of reignition, the team returned to the station.

The cause of the fire and the total damage incurred are currently under investigation.
