KUCHING, Feb 26: Timely payers stand a chance to win attractive prizes as the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) launches a RM20,000 Lucky Draw campaign to reward those who settle their 2026 assessment rates and outstanding arrears by May 31, 2026.

In a statement today, MPP stated that the initiative aims to encourage property owners and occupants within its jurisdiction to make prompt payment of their assessment rates.

To be eligible for the lucky draw, ratepayers must pay both the first and second half of their 2026 assessment rate bills in full within the stipulated period.

Successful participants will have the opportunity to win attractive prizes in the Lucky Draw, scheduled for the end of June 2026.

The programme is open to all individually owned rateable properties registered in the MPP system and is subject to the council’s terms and conditions.

MPP highlighted that this incentive programme is the first of its kind, reflecting the council’s proactive governance and appreciation for compliant ratepayers.

Property owners and occupants are encouraged to make their payments early rather than wait until the deadline.

The council also emphasised that prompt assessment rate payments are essential for maintaining public amenities, enhancing service delivery, and improving the community’s overall living standards.

Through this initiative, MPP hopes to raise public awareness on the importance of timely payments for the benefit of the entire community. — DayakDaily
