KUCHING (Nov 30): Some 15 families received food aid from the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Kuching branch and Tabuan Jaya Anglican Church on Saturday in conjunction with the upcoming Christmas celebrations.

According to Reverend Richard Chang, the families from Kuching, Stampin and Taee were selected based on household income and conditions of their houses.

He said that both the MRC Kuching branch and the church also sought future collaborations to help the community.

Meanwhile, MRC Kuching branch community services chairman Ryan Jee said that community service and humanitarian work were an important pillar for them, and appealed for more support so more humanitarian projects can be conducted in the future.

The food aid was donated by Alfamy Mini Mart, Viva Future Sdn Bhd, Sim Choon Seng Sdn Bhd, MRC Kuching branch committee members, and other donors.
