Mukah police seek public help to locate missing 82-year-old woman

MUKAH (Jan 6): Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate an 82-year-old woman who has been reported missing since Dec 29 last year.

Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the missing person, identified as Mai Umpung, was last seen at her residence at Rumah Kunsun, Sungai Pelugau, Balingian.

“We have received a police report regarding the disappearance of the elderly woman, and efforts are ongoing to trace her whereabouts,” he said in a statement on Tuesday,

According to police records, Mai is of Iban ethnicity, stands approximately 149 centimetres tall, has a medium-dark complexion and white hair.

She was last seen wearing a pinkish-red shirt and a batik sarong.

Muhammad Rizal said anyone with relevant information should contact the Mukah District Police Headquarters (IPD Mukah) or the nearest police station to assist in the search.

“Public cooperation is crucial in helping us locate the missing individual as soon as possible,” he added.
