SIBU (Feb 19): The Nangka Service Centre’s Ramadan Bazaar at Dataran Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang Phase 2 here has introduced a QR code payment system.

Sayed Azmee Wan Junaidi, a political secretary to the Premier, said the QR code payment system seeks to facilitate smoother transactions between traders and customers.

“This initiative is supported by an Islamic bank and I believe this is the first Ramadan bazaar in Sarawak to fully introduce QR code usage,” he said on Wednesday after officially opening the bazaar on behalf of Nangka assemblyman Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee.

Sayed Azmee said the Ministry of Health will monitor cleanliness at the bazaar to ensure hygiene standards are maintained throughout the fasting month.

He added the organising committee will also provide a QR code for customers to submit complaints or feedback, to enable immediate action when necessary.

“We want to make sure that the bazaar is well managed. We hope visitors will provide constructive feedback.

“These measures are aimed at ensuring a smooth, orderly, and well-managed Ramadan bazaar experience for both traders and visitors,” he said.

There are 116 traders operating 58 stalls at the Ramadan Bazaar.
