National Sports Council member impressed with S’wak’s preparations for Sukma

MIRI (Aug 16): National Sports Council (MSN) Management Board member Alan Ling remarks that the state government’s preparations for this year’s Malaysia Games (Sukma) as impressive.

Ling expressed this during his visit to the Sukma media centre at the indoor stadium here on Wednesday.

“I am really impressed with the preparations made by the Sarawak government in organising this 21st Sukma, and together, we can ensure the event’s success,” he said.

Adding on, he said the support from the Youth and Sports Ministry and MSN was equally important in ensuring the smooth running of the event.

Ling’s visit to the media centre was received by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) Miri Division officer Dayang Norazelina Hamdan, to which he extended his appreciation to the government’s agency for providing a conducive venue and facilities for the media practitioners.

Over 20 reporters and nine Ukas staff members have gathered at the media centre which started its operation on Wednesday.

Six sports events are taking place here, with the rugby events at the Miri Stadium, pencak silat at the indoor stadium, sailing at Marina Bay, fencing at Eastwood Valley, Karate at Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN) and softball at IKBN and SMK Merbau fields.
