KUCHING, March 4: The construction of a new SK Sri Sadong in Serian, approved under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) First Rolling Plan (RP1) for 2026, has entered its planning phase.

According to a statement today, the Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia is currently conducting land surveys and investigations.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) provided the update following a request from the Serian member of parliament Dato Sri Richard Riot Jaem regarding the progress of the new school in the Serian constituency.

The project will feature a 12-classroom school equipped with standard facilities.

The implementation timeline will be confirmed once the Value Management (VM) process is finalised.

In accordance with Ministry of Economy Circular No. 1/2024, the project requires VM review because its approved allocation exceeds RM70 million. Subsequent implementation will follow the decisions of the VM Lab. — DayakDaily
