Dr Annuar explains this was a mark of respect for his late parents.
SIBU (March 19): Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee will not be hosting a Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house this year.
In a Facebook post, the Nangka assemblyman explained this was a mark of respect for his late parents.
“Within two consecutive years, I lost my beloved father (2024) and mother (2025).
“This Aidilfitri 2026 marks the first Hari Raya for us without both our beloved parents — Al-Fatihah,” he wrote.
On behalf of his family, Dr Annuar extended festive greetings to all celebrants.
“I seek forgiveness for any mistakes, shortcomings, or harshness on my part in carrying out my duties,” he said.
