KUCHING (Dec 30): There is currently no other leader with the experience, integrity and broad public acceptance to rival or replace Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said Senator Abun Sui Anyit.

In a statement, Abun, who is also Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Hulu Rajang division chief, emphasised that Malaysia still requires continuity in stable, principled, and reform-oriented leadership to ensure sustained progress and national resilience.

He called on Malaysians to assess the Madani government’s performance rationally and based on facts, rather than being swayed by narratives driven by racial sentiment, hatred or misinformation often promoted by opposition parties.

“Leadership change should not be driven by racial sentiment or hatred, but must be based on a mature evaluation of a leader’s credibility, leadership capability, and ability to govern the country in a stable manner,” he said.

Abun stressed that leadership continuity does not mean ignoring future leadership. He said the Madani government remains committed to identifying and nurturing new leaders to ensure an orderly and mature leadership transition guided by national interests rather than divisive politics.

“With the strong support of the people, I am confident that the Madani government will continue to move forward in building a just, prosperous and competitive Malaysia,” he said.

He further highlighted the government’s achievements were not accidental but stemmed from policy stability, bold reforms and the trust of the people.

“These achievements did not happen by chance; they are the outcome of stable policies, courageous reforms and the people’s confidence in national leadership,” he said.

Abun noted that at the domestic level, the economy continues to be strengthened through high-quality investments, job creation and inclusive growth initiatives that enhance the well-being of Malaysians across all regions, including Sabah and Sarawak.

“This inclusive growth agenda delivers real benefits to the people across regions” he added.

On the international front, Abun said Anwar’s leadership has expanded Malaysia’s strategic relations globally, opening up new investment opportunities and increasing confidence in the country.

“This has strengthened Malaysia’s standing on the global stage while boosting global investor confidence,” he said.

He concluded that the government’s achievements should be measured not only by figures and statistics but also by tangible benefits to the people, including improved family well-being, new economic opportunities, and a more resilient and sustainable future for the nation.
