BINTULU (Nov 3): A woman was killed and three others were injured after their car plunged into a ravine along Jalan Tatau-Bintulu near the Bintulu Airport here early this morning.

Bintulu Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Bintulu zone chief Wan Kamarudin Wan Ahmad said the deceased was identified as Talie Ganin.

Wan Kamarudin said Bomba received a distress call about the incident at 2.33am and 11 firefighters were depatched to the scene.

“Four victims were successfully extricated by the public before the arrival of the firefighters. The firefighters then brought them to a safe location where they were given initial treatment.

“Two adults, aged 44 and 50, sustained head injuries, while a 14-year-old girl suffered fractures to both her legs.”

Wan Kamarudin said the injured victims were sent to the hospital by an ambulance, while the body of the deceased was handed over to the police for further action.

The operation ended at 4.04am.
