Ops Luxury: Landcruiser, Vellfire seized in Miri for expired road tax, no insurance

MIRI (Feb 11): An Ops Luxury operation by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) here saw the seizure of a Toyota Landcruiser and a Toyota Vellfire after both vehicles were found to be without valid road tax and insurance coverage.

JPJ Miri in a statement said the two high-end vehicles were among 450 commercial and private vehicles inspected during the operation conducted along Jalan Permyjaya Bypass.

“Among the violations detected were driving without a valid licence, failing to wear seatbelts, non-compliant licence plates, and various technical defects,” it said.

JPJ Miri said it will continue to intensify enforcement operations, and reminded all road users to ensure they have valid and complete vehicle documentation.

“There will be no compromise when it comes to road safety regulations. All road users, regardless of what vehicle they drive, must comply with the law,” it said.
