BINTULU, 24 September: More than 300 vehicles of various types were inspected by the Sarawak Department of Road Transport (JPJ) through Operation Overload around Pan Borneo Bintulu Road, on Wednesday.
The operation was carried out by the JPJ Kapit Operations Unit in cooperation with the JPJ Bintulu Operations Unit through ongoing patrol and monitoring.
According to a statement by JPJ Sarawak, the inspection found several offenses including carrying overloads, no driver's license and thinning tire flower.
"The authorities have detected violations of permit requirements of the Board of Licensing of Commercial Vehicles (LPKP), expiration of Motor Vehicle License (LKM) and some technical errors of vehicles.
"All offences detected are prosecuted under the provisions of the law in force", the statement said.
JPJ Sarawak reminds vehicle owners and operators to ensure that loads do not exceed the permitted limits, permits are complied with, driver's license and LKM remain valid as well as vehicles are in safe condition before starting the journey.
The enforcement will be continuously continued to improve the level of compliance and ensure the safety of all road users, especially those involved in heavy-duty vehicles.
