Penguang and Monica extend their ‘Gong Xi Fa Chai’ wishes to the Chinese community, expressing hopes for a prosperous Year of the Fire Horse for Sarawak.
MIRI (Feb 14): Sarawak’s firm foundation of unity and strong leadership will enable the state to weather any challenges in the ‘Year of the Fire Horse’, said State Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil.
In his Chinese New Year message, he acknowledged that the ‘Fire Horse’ year may present uncertainties and testing moments.
However, he expressed confidence that Sarawak would continue to prevail, guided by its long-standing spirit of togetherness and stable governance.
“Under the visionary and capable leadership of our Premier, we are confident that Sarawak will overcome whatever challenges lie ahead,” he said.
Penguang emphasised that unity in spirit and soul remains the cornerstone of Sarawak’s strength, supported by the harmonious relationships among its diverse communities.
He said this strong social fabric has shaped Sarawak into a stable and progressive state, and must continue to be preserved and strengthened.
“With unity and mutual respect, we will continue to move forward victoriously for the benefit of our people,” he added.
Penguang, who is Marudi assemblyman and Progressive Democratic Party senior vice-president, together with his wife Datin Monica Ukong, extended their warm wishes of ‘Gong Xi Fa Chai’ to the Chinese community celebrating the Lunar New Year, including the family reunion dinner on Feb 17 and the first day of the Year of the Horse on Feb 18.
He expressed hope that the new year would bring renewed happiness, prosperity and good health, enabling the people to continue serving Sarawak with dedication, commitment and unity of purpose.
