KUCHING, Mar 29: PETRONAS has denied its involvement in a proposed fuel supply arrangement involving a local government unit in the Philippines.

According to a media release issued today, PETRONAS clarified that it is not aware of, nor involved in, any such arrangement, and has not entered into any related agreement or commitment.

“PETRONAS’ immediate focus is to ensure that reliable and continuous fuel supply is available for Malaysia.

“This remains its utmost priority, supported by established supply networks and close coordination with the government,” it said.

In a report dated Mar 27 by ABS-CBN, a Filipino media company, Edwin Jubahib—the governor of Davao del Norte, which is a province in the Philippines—said that the province is in talks to import 44 million litres of diesel from PETRONAS. — DayakDaily
