PETRONAS offers sponsorship opportunities for SPM top scorers (Mar 31–Apr 10)

KUCHING, March 31: As the long-awaited Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results are finally unveiled, PETRONAS opens doors for outstanding students through its education sponsorship programme beginning March 31 until April 10.

PETRONAS is offering scholarships to deserving SPM leavers to pursue tertiary education at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and leading universities locally and abroad, including in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan and South Korea.

The programme aims to nurture future talents by investing in education and human capital development, ensuring a sustainable pipeline of skilled individuals for PETRONAS, the industry, and the nation.

Eligible applicants must meet academic requirements of at least 8As and Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) B1 for local programmes, or a minimum of 4A+ and 4A with CEFR C1 for overseas placements.

Beyond academic excellence, PETRONAS values leadership, taking into account participation in clubs, sports, community service and other extracurricular activities.

Applicants will undergo a comprehensive assessment process, including online personality and cognitive tests, leadership competency evaluations, and a face-to-face interview with PETRONAS assessors.

The sponsorship is highly competitive, with selections based on academic performance, character, leadership potential and community impact.
