KUCHING (Oct 3): Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) will host an Oil and Gas Career Day for local graduates and school leavers at the upcoming Sarawak Career and Training (SCaT) Fair on Oct 5-6.

The Oil and Gas Career Day, to be held at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre here, will be participated by more than 20 leading oil and gas players including JX Nippon Oil and Gas Exploration, Mubadala Energy, PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) and Petra Energy Berhad, said Petronas in a statement.

According to Petronas, 700 job opportunities across various fields in the oil and gas industry are up for grabs.

“Additionally, a line-up of distinguished speakers will share insights on their personal career journeys in the oil and gas industry, along with valuable tips on resume writing, interview techniques and more,” said Petronas.

It added that visitors and attendees will have the chance to interact with industry professionals, ask questions and gain valuable insights on how to build a successful career in this field.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will officiate at the opening ceremony on Oct 5.

In this year’s SCaT Fair, Petronas is taking on a prominent role as a strategic partner by joining forces with the event organisers — Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) and Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas).

“Petronas’ active participation in the local fair not only showcases its dedication to nation-building but also demonstrates its passion for driving industry transition and building a sustainable workforce for Sarawak’s future,” said the statement.

Attracting over 20,000 visitors annually, the SCaT Fair aims to consolidate education, training and employment opportunities, offering a platform for visitors to connect with potential employers and educational institutions.
