KUCHING (March 12): Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros) has contributed a tithe worth RM1 million to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) to support programmes that benefit communities across the state.
The contribution was presented by Petros chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Hamid Bugo to TBS general manager Datu Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie during a recent ceremony.
In a statement, Petros said the contribution reflects the company’s continued commitment to supporting community welfare and strengthening development initiatives throughout Sarawak.
“The spirit of Ramadan reminds us of the importance of compassion and generosity. Through this initiative, we hope the contribution will provide meaningful assistance to those who need it most,” Hamid said.
He added that corporate tithe plays an important role in supporting social welfare efforts and uplifting communities across the state.
“It reflects a shared commitment to support those facing hardship, while reinforcing the values of compassion, solidarity and generosity that are central to the spirit of Ramadan,” he said.
Also present were Petros senior vice president (Human Capital, Corporate Relations and Services) Ismail Said and TBS head of Operations Sector Ustaz Mohd Yusree Mohd Zain.
