KUCHING, March 13: The Ramadan atmosphere in Kuching came alive today as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim mingled with traders and visitors at the Sukma Ria Ramadan Bazaar.

Arriving at 5.25pm, Anwar was warmly welcomed by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof.

Also present were Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Commission and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, Malaysia Agreement 1963 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali; and Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) mayor Dato Hilmy Othman.

Their presence drew the attention of thousands of visitors browsing for iftar treats.

The Prime Minister strolled through the bazaar, stopping to chat and take photos with locals.

He also made purchases at several stalls, showing his support for small businesses.

Now in its latest edition, the Sukma Ria Ramadan Bazaar, organised in collaboration with DBKU, remains a favourite gathering spot. This year’s bazaar features 70 stalls, offering a wide variety of local delicacies, all of which Anwar made a point to explore. — DayakDaily
