KUCHING (Aug 25): ZUS Coffee, Malaysia’s biggest coffee chain, lauded Sarawak’s efforts in growing its coffee industry and it hopes to one day include locally sourced coffee beans into its wide range of products and offerings.

“We are happy to see that the Sarawak’s food ministry is looking into coffee planting and ZUS Coffee is committed to work with local farmers and food ministry.

“Hopefully one day, we’ll be able to sell Sarawakian coffee in all of our outlets,” said ZUS Coffee chief operating officer Venon Tian at the launch of its ‘Made in Malaysia’ nationwide tour.

“Our product team are trying to work with local players to see if we could one day have East Malaysian beans. Currently, we understand that here, they are trying to encourage the farmers to be able to promote coffee beans.

“Now, it’s still something we’re working on. But we’re putting in efforts to make sure that we’ll be able incorporate more localised flavours,” Tian shared in an interview with The Borneo Post.

ZUS Coffee ‘Made in Malaysia’ nationwide tour also celebrates its commitment to showcasing the vibrant spirit and rich cultural heritage of Malaysia, bringing the essence of local traditions and flavours to communities across the country.

The tour kicked-off here over the weekend with much fanfare. It featured a bazaar which showcased an array of unique Sarawakian vendors such as Natural Remedy, To Melt For, Elly Loe Handcrafts, Bricky Lab DIY, Themuq Natural Soap, Nutonuto_coconut, Daisy Dalia, Crustnflakekch, Fuku-fuku, Puff.lab, and Song Prettybell.

The bazaar also aims to celebrate everything ‘Made in Malaysia’ with unique offerings from the region and highlighting the innovative spirit that has been the backbone of ZUS Coffee.

“We are excited to begin this nationwide celebration in Sarawak, a region celebrated for its rich cultural diversity and home to 27 diverse ethnicities,” said Tian.

“The ‘Made in Malaysia’ tour is our way of honouring the traditions and craftsmanship of Malaysia, while also looking ahead to the future with innovation and creativity to better serve the taste buds of our fellow Malaysians,” he added.

This tour also marks ZUS Coffee’s fifth anniversary, a milestone that reflects the brand’s dedication to quality and community.

Along with key strategic partners HYGR, Spritzer, and POS Malaysia, the ‘Made in Malaysia’ tour will continue its journey across the nation with a series of roving events, culminating in a grand finale music festival in Genting Highlands on November 2, 2024.

The ZUS Coffee’s ‘Made in Malaysia’ nationwide tour will also be heading to Sabah next month, from September 21 to 22, 2024 and its event will be held at Imago Shopping Mall, Kota Kinabalu.

Meanwhile, HYGR, a Malaysian business that promotes sustainability, officially launched its limited edition ZUS x HYGR Cham-Tik makeup palette series Sarawak. It will be bringing this limited edition makeup edition on its nationwide tour with ZUS Coffee.

The ZUS Coffee’s ‘Made in Malaysia’ nationwide tour is expected to attract over 127,000 attendees nationwide, with each event designed to foster strong connections within the local communities.

From state-specific events to nationwide festivities, the ‘Made in Malaysia’ tour will emphasise the unity and diversity of Malaysia.
