KUCHING (Jan 10): Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s love for his late wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, continues to live on even after more than six months since her passing.
According to a post on the Premier’s official Facebook page Sarawakku, although Puan Sri Juma’ani returned to rahmatullah over half a year ago, the Premier’s affection for his wife of 48 years remains closely bound in his heart.
“The passing of a beloved life partner of 48 years has never erased the bond of love and loyalty. The bond continues to live on in every prayer, memory and step of the Premier as he continues to remember his wife’s love and devotion,” the post said.
The post noted that the Premier almost every Friday morning, before starting his daily duties, stops briefly at the grave of the late Puan Sri Juma’ani.
During these visits, he offers prayers as “pengubat rindu” (cure for longing) for the woman who shared nearly five decades of life with him.
Last Friday, Abang Johari visited Juma’ani’s grave at the Semariang Islamic Cemetery here, accompanied by their daughter, Dayang Norjihan.
The visit, the post said, reflects the strength of family values as well as the continuity of love and respect for the late Puan Sri.
The post described the visit as taking place in a calm atmosphere, reflecting the sincerity of a husband’s love that has never faded, even though separated by the distance between this world and the hereafter.
“It symbolises that true love does not end with separation, but continues to live on in prayers, loyalty and everlasting memories,” the post added.
