KUCHING, Jan 31: The Sarawak government has achieved a historic milestone when 58 state government agencies under the Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit (STIU) received recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) as the first government agencies to be simultaneously certified under the MS ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (Sarawak Division Administration).

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the certification encompasses an extensive scope, involving 28 processes and procedures in Resident Offices and District Offices throughout Sarawak.

These processes include the issuance of Special Civil Marriage Licenses, Probate Registration, Shotgun Management, Business Name Registration and Licensing, Professions and Trade, Adoption Certificate Management, Rural Small Project Governance (PKLB), Bumiputera Court, Community Leader and Tribal Leader Management, among others.

The Malaysia Book of Records presented the certificate of recognition to Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Operations) Datu Hii Chang Kee during a ceremony held at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Tuesday (Jan 30).

During the certification presentation ceremony, Hii highlighted that this certification marks a significant achievement as it encompasses all the main processes, particularly those related to providing services to the people.

“This process involves a standard or standards where all services’ processess rendered to the people remain the same wherever the agency operates.

“The standardised processes ensure uniformity in service delivery across all agencies, upholding the concept of ‘one Sarawak’ despite geographical differences,” he said.

Hii extended congratulations and commendation to STIU director Superi Awang Said and the entire staff for their successful efforts in obtaining this prestigious recognition. — DayakDaily
