BAU (Aug 17): Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has agreed to the proposal to set up a Form 6 college with vocational examination certificates in Bau.

He said this proposal can help boost the students’ interest in scientific fields including hydrogen technology.

“I can see that our bright students are very good in hydrogen (technology), they can grasp its basic principles. The same goes for aerospace, remote sensing, avionics and satellite technology.

“So, if they have that understanding because they have the basic knowledge, we just need to upgrade them,” he told reporters when met after officiating the new SK Suba Buan school here today.

He was responding to Deputy Minister of Transport and Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, who earlier had proposed for a Form 6 college to be set up in bau to cater for the increasing number of population in the constituency, or another middle school.

Henry also proposed for a vocational or technical school to be set up in the constituency to fullfil Sarawak’s workforce and skill demands.
