KUCHING (Dec 30): The Puncak Borneo New Year 2026 Countdown Euphoria on Dec 31 promises a day-long celebration filled with entertainment and community-focused activities.
Organised by the Padawan Adventure 4×4 Adventure Club Kuching, the event will be held at an open area near Kampung Tabuan Rabak along Jalan Kampung Mambong/Sarig.
Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin, who is also the patron of the club, said the programme aims to bring the community together to usher in the new year with unity, joy and togetherness.
“The celebration provides an opportunity for reflection on the past year, acknowledging challenges overcome, lessons learned and the strength shown by the community, while embracing new beginnings filled with hope and optimism,” said Willie in a statement on Monday.
He added that the event also seeks to strengthen bonds among families, friends and neighbours, while promoting unity across different backgrounds, cultures and generations within Puncak Borneo.
“By coming together, we reinforce community pride, mutual respect and the values that keep our community resilient and connected,” he said.
Willie noted that the programme will also create a positive and safe environment for youths to celebrate with joy, motivation and inspiration, while supporting local initiatives and talents.
