KUCHING, Feb 17: Whether it is under the hot sun or heavy rain, the work of the Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ) officers during Ops TBC 2026 has gone far beyond issuing summonses and checking documents.

For many road users, their presence has meant something simpler and far more personal— help when it was needed most.

“Throughout the implementation of Ops TBC 2026, Sarawak JPJ personnel have remained ready to assist road users in need.

“In addition to ensuring compliance with road laws, JPJ officers also help vehicles that have broken down by the roadside and take immediate action to remove objects obstructing traffic to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow,” said the department in a Facebook post on Monday (Feb 16).

It added that this approach reflects Sarawak JPJ’s commitment not only to enforcement, but also to strengthening its role as a caring agency that consistently prioritises the safety and well-being of the community.
